Dear Beagles on the internet,
Sometimes the world is a small place. In the spring 2010 issue of the "Clearwater Navigator" newsletter for Clearwwater members came across an article by Clearwater educational director David Conover about an environmental trip he took to Greenland.
In it he referred to http://coolemotion.org with a radio report that VPRO did after the collapse of an iceberg there.
For Beagles who are interested to find out more about the conditions on Greenland I refer to the website mentioned above which is Dutch.
If you want to read David Conover's article you can find it in Clearwater Navigator on http://www.clearwater.org/wp-content/images/2010/06/Spring2010Navigator.pdf
In short it is about this: "Last September a group of kids from Greenland that sailed with us on board Clearwater. It was the second time the Children's Home in Uummannaq from Greenland visited us. My stay in Greenland was wonderful, but I'm hoping that this adventure may lead to an exchange program of some kind. Stay tuned!"
I believe this is some good news about climate change as it is hope for the world if we work together with initiatives like this.
Best to you,
Gerty Bataille, a sailor of Clearwater from Amsterdam
PS. Maybe especially for Sarah Darwin: When she can she should check, http://www.clearwater.org/wp-content/images/2010/06/Spring2010Navigator.pdf, as I believe there are some wonderful inspiring stories in this Clearwater Navigator about educating children about nature and the environment in the middle of nature experiencing it first hand and hands on.
